So you are ready to sell your collection? The first thing you want to do is make an inventory of everything you have and want to sell. This will help you in the long run so you can present the list in an orderly fashion and get a quote faster. We can’t stress enough how much a clear and precise list will help you and us for speed and efficiency.
Trading Card / Baseball Card Commons:
When it comes to buying commons there are a few guidelines for presentation:
- Please separate your commons into sports.
- Remove the cards from any plastic they are in (Card savers, Penny savers etc.).
- Make sure they are regular sized cards (not minis or oversized).
- Make sure there are no puzzle pieces, stickers, or Sportsflics cards.
- Place them in 3,000 3,500 and 5,000 count boxes.
- Fill the boxes all the way to ensure the count is close.
- Mark the sport on the outside of the boxes.
- Take a count of the boxes and how many they hold and total up how many you have.
Trading Card / Baseball Card Sets:
Here are some quick tips for sets:
- Keep the sets in card order for ease and speed for key card lookup.
- Mark the boxes with as much information as you can (year, sport, and manufacturer).
- Make sure they are complete sets.
- If the set isn’t complete, mark the card range and or missing cards on the box.
- Sets in binders are acceptable and do not need to be transferred to boxes.
Trading Card / Baseball Card Boxes and Cases:
Boxes and cases also have some simple guidelines:
- If the item is sealed, leave it sealed.
- If a case has been resealed make sure it is what it says it is on the case/box.
- Make sure the boxes contain all their packs.
- Note the year and manufacturer of the boxes for your list.
- Note boxes with their tops removed.
